Fiat Keys

Keyless Entry System

Keyless entry systems are a reliable method of securing your rental property without physical keys. These systems allow guests and tenants to access the building with codes, or using their smartphones. They can be used with intercoms that allow video and audio communications. This provides tenants with a variety of options to enter a building. Certain keyless entry systems are cloud-based and can be managed remotely and to offer more advanced features.

Keyless entry systems can be installed anywhere in commercial or residential property. The hardware must be installed at each entry point. The system will then need to be configured and controlled from a central console or through a smartphone application. According to Technavio, the global keyless entry system market is expected to expand at a CAGR between 2016 and 2022 of 11.8 percent. The growth in the market is attributed to the increasing demand for security systems for commercial vehicles.

Many people fear getting locked out of their homes, so they usually keep keys in a safe spot. This poses a major security risk as criminals are aware of where people store their keys and are able to easily locate them. To avoid this happening, you should install an entry system that is keyless at your residence. This will prevent you from ever being locked out of your home again.

Transponder Chip

The transponder, also known as "chip key", is a micro-chip which is built into the head part of your car keys. It's one of the most crucial safety layers for your vehicle. The term "transponder" originates from the combination of the responder and transmitter. This is because, once the key has been put into the ignition and the key is turned on to turn, the antenna in your car sends a burst radio frequency energy to the transponder chip. The chip responds by sending its unique identification code back to the antenna ring. The car's computer then analyzes this data and determines whether it's valid or not.

The key must be a transponder key to start the car. If it is not, then the vehicle will remain unresponsive. The chip is protected by a special polycarbonate layer which prevents it from being copied or duplicated using regular mechanical keys. Beishir Lock and Security carries the largest selection of transponder keys at just a fraction of the price of car dealerships.

In the 1980s, GM began to introduce transponder chips into the Corvette. The technology dramatically reduced car thefts as hot-wiring was made obsolete. This is a very basic explanation of how a chip key functions and should you have any concerns please contact us.

Immobiliser System

The engine immobiliser system (also called the anti-theft system) is a key feature of your vehicle's security. When you insert your key into the ignition switch or Smart Key fob, the transponder chip inside sends an electronic code to the vehicle's Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The ECU examines whether the code that is sent by the chip matches the one stored in it before it can allow the engine to get started.

This is the primary way the immobiliser on your car can prevent theft. If the code on the chip is not in sync, the ECU will stop the flow of current from the fuel pump relay to the injection system and prevent the engine from starting. The immobiliser can also disable the starter motor or ignition coil to prevent the engine being forced to start.

Unfortunately the system isn't foolproof. The code used to unlock the car's immobiliser can be hacked by thieves and used to start it. However, the latest versions of these systems come with a a longer cryptographic sequence that is more difficult to guess.

Since 1998 the immobilisers for cars have become mandatory. However, a lot of cars already had basic systems in place. It's important to note that even though an immobiliser makes it more difficult to steal a car, it doesn't prevent thieves from towing away from it or breaking into the car to gain access to your possessions.

Key Replacement

Losing a key or remote fob can be costly and frustrating. A locksmith must gain access to the vehicle and decode the VIN or run it, and then reprogram the replacement key to erase any signatures that were previously stored in the computer for keys that were stolen, lost or damaged.

If  proximity  comes with a security chip, also known as a transponder, in the key, it will make replacing it more expensive. These chips transmit signals to the car which proves your identity as the driver, and permits the doors to be opened or the engine to start. The cost for the replacement of a smart key is $160.
